- The Cederberg municipality in the Western Cape is undergoing a political shift as the residents' association, Cederberg Eerste (CE), forms a new partnership with the African National Congress (ANC) after its alliance with the Democratic Alliance (DA) fell apart.
- The new government of local unity, consisting of CE and ANC, will take charge of the municipality, but the DA is concerned about the transparency and service delivery under this new alliance.
