- The South African Communist Party (SACP) is holding a congress to discuss its future in the alliance and opposes the ANC forming a coalition with the MK Party, which it calls the "State capture party".
- The SACP suggests the ANC work with the EFF and other smaller parties instead, and denies media reports of cosying up to the MK Party.
