- This was shared during a Christmas event organized by the Plateau State Government, where both Gowon and Obasanjo were present to celebrate unity and peace in the region.
- Obasanjo was arrested in 1995, sentenced to death, but later released in 1998 after Abacha's death, eventually becoming the President of Nigeria in 1999.
