- The retiring Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alamutu, expressed regret for not being able to catch the killers of the late finance director, Mr Taiwo Oyekanmi, who was shot dead during a robbery while returning from the bank.
- Despite efforts to track down the culprits, the lack of information and intelligence made it challenging for the police to make progress, and Governor Dapo Abiodun announced a reward for information leading to the arrest of the assailants.
- Alamutu, who served for 35 years, hopes his successor will continue the pursuit of justice and thanked colleagues, community leaders, citizens, and the media for their support during his tenure.
