- The Peoples Democratic Party in Edo State nominated Mr Eugene Inegbeboh as the new Minority Whip after the former Whip, Mr Yekini Idiaye, defected to the All Progressives Congress.
- There was a disagreement during the announcement when a lawmaker challenged the nomination, but the Speaker intervened, stating that internal party matters were not within the House's jurisdiction.
