- Norman Chisale, former president Peter Mutharika's bodyguard, was arrested by Malawi Police in connection with the duty-free importation of cement worth K5 billion.
- Chisale presented himself to the police after learning they were going to arrest him, following an interrogation of businessman Mahmed Shafee Ahmed Chunara, who implicated Chisale in the cement scandal.
