- The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) want South African soldiers to come back from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) where they are on a peacekeeping mission.
- EFF leader Julius Malema believes that the soldiers are being used to protect mineral interests in the DRC, rather than for peacekeeping purposes.
