COSATU wants Parliament to reconsider proposal for zero tolerance on drunk driving
  • COSATU is urging the seventh Parliament to reconsider a proposal for zero tolerance on drunk driving, which was removed from the final National Road Traffic Amendment Bill by the previous Parliament.
  • The law aims to improve road safety by regulating driving schools and learner driver's licences, but COSATU believes it should also have included a ban on alcohol consumption for drivers to reduce the high number of alcohol-related road accidents in South Africa.
