- The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has chosen former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi as its presidential candidate for the 2027 elections, with Musa Kwakwanso as his running mate.
- This sets up a rematch against President Bola Tinubu and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, as they all aim for the presidency in January 2027.
