- The Olubadan of Ibadanland declared the title of Sarkin Sasa in Oyo State as invalid during a meeting at the Olubadan Palace.
- The late Sarkin Sasa's son was chosen as the new leader without Olubadan's approval, but the recognized leader of Sasa land is Chief Akinade Ajani Amusa, according to a statement from the Olubadan's Chief Press Secretary.
