- The Federal Government of Nigeria has made significant progress in eliminating Neglected Tropical Diseases, with around 30 million Nigerians no longer needing treatment with ivermectin.
- This achievement is a result of the Ivermectin Mass Drug Administration strategy, which has been effective in controlling diseases like onchocerciasis and lymphatic filariasis, with support from partners like the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and the World Health Organization.
