- Uganda's President Yoweri Museveni awarded his son, General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, a military medal for his leadership in anti-terror operations during the Tarehe Sita celebrations.
- This recognition comes amid rising tensions between Uganda and the U.S. over military funding for operations in Somalia, with Muhoozi warning of a potential withdrawal of Ugandan troops if financial support is not secured.
