- AWS is opening a new Region in South Africa, called AWS Africa (Cape Town), with three Availability Zones to provide faster service to users in Sub-Saharan Africa.
- This expansion will offer secure infrastructure for storing data in South Africa and support compliance with regulations like the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
- Additionally, AWS is actively working to open more Regions in locations where customers need them most, while also supporting startups, education, and philanthropic activities in South Africa.
