  • Rwandan President Paul Kagame and Alibaba Group have launched Africa's first Electronic World Trade Platform (eWTP) to help small businesses in Rwanda engage in cross-border electronic trade with Chinese consumers.
  • This partnership aims to boost Rwanda's economy by enabling Rwandan SMEs to sell products like coffee and handcrafts directly to Chinese consumers through Alibaba's online marketplaces, while also promoting tourism to Rwanda and providing capacity building for the country's digital economy.
