It's crazy how the farmers have to sell the cocoa only to the government. Practices like these are what is holding Ghana back. Trust the farmers to make the business decisions and the entire industry can explode. I'm talking not just selling the cocoa but actually making the finished product like chocolate right in Ghana.
I wouldn't be surprised if the government has some deal with one of these imperialists corporations that calls for exclusivity in order to keep prices down for themselves.
