- Brian Mundubile, a leading presidential candidate, and his running mate, Makebi Zulu, have been detained by police in Lusaka on treason charges after being interrogated.
- They sought refuge at the United Nations following a military raid at Mundubile's home, which resulted in the death of a former cabinet minister, and are now under the rule of law as part of an agreement with the UN.
