- A forensic report revealed that Eugene Modise, the deputy mayor of Tshwane, improperly benefited from a company he previously owned that has a security contract with the municipality, failing to disclose his financial interests as required.
- The council has decided to form a special committee to review the findings instead of taking immediate disciplinary action, which some opposition members view as a delay tactic.
