Home affairs committee vows to support BMA to get extra funding to secure SA's borders
  • The Parliament's home affairs committee is working hard to help the Border Management Authority get more funding to secure South Africa's borders, as the authority has intercepted around half a million people trying to enter the country illegally since its inception in 2022.
  • The committee chairperson emphasized the importance of adequately resourcing the authority to prevent its efforts from being in vain, especially in light of recent events in Mozambique highlighting the significance of the BMA's work.
