- The Democratic Alliance (DA) has proposed a new economic policy that would eliminate the requirement for companies to have black ownership or subcontract to Black-owned businesses when doing business with the State.
- Their plan replaces the current Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (B-BBEE) scorecard with a simpler system focused on value for money and economic inclusion, while also excluding companies with a history of fraud and corruption.
