- Starting January 1, 2025, the United States Embassy in Nigeria will require immigrant visa applicants to visit the Consulate General in Lagos at least twice during the process to help prepare for their visa interviews and prevent delays.
- The first visit will be for an 'In-Person Document Review' to ensure all necessary documents are in order, and the second visit will be with a Consular Officer for the actual interview, with rescheduling required if the document review is not completed beforehand.
