- Seven candidates from the All Progressives Congress (APC) have withdrawn from the race for the Kano Central Senatorial District and endorsed former Governor Ibrahim Shekarau as their chosen candidate to promote unity in Kano State.
- This decision, made during a meeting led by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, aims to strengthen the party's chances in the upcoming 2027 elections.
