- The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) won all the chairmanship and councillorship seats in all 30 local government areas in Osun State, as announced by the Chairman of the Osun State Independent Electoral Commission (OSSIEC), Hashim Abioye.
- Despite warnings from the police and the Attorney General of the Federation, the commission proceeded with the elections based on a court order, with Governor Ademola Adeleke describing the process as peaceful.
