- Kenneth Okonkwo, a leader of the African Democratic Congress, criticized the ongoing detention of former Kaduna State governor Nasir El-Rufai, claiming it violates his fundamental human rights and calling for a fair trial instead.
- He suggested that El-Rufai's detention may be politically motivated due to his association with the ADC and held President Bola Tinubu responsible for the actions of anti-corruption agencies.
