- The Academic Staff Union of Universities at Gombe State University is upset because the Governor appointed an acting Vice-Chancellor instead of choosing from the three nominees presented by the governing council, which goes against the university's laws.
- The union is worried that this decision could harm the university and its activities, and they are calling on the government to follow the proper process and appoint a substantive Vice-Chancellor to avoid further confusion and embarrassment.
