- The Oyo State Government opposed bail for the ex-queen of Ooni of Ife, a school principal, and another individual who were remanded in prison over the death of 35 children during a Christmas Funfair in Ibadan.
- The defense argued that the detention was unconstitutional and challenged the court's jurisdiction, while the state government insisted that there were no sufficient grounds for bail and refuted claims of persecution.
