- Nigeria's first lady, Oluremi Tinubu, was elected to the Steering Committee of the Organization of African First Ladies for Development during the 29th Ordinary General Assembly in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
- She joins other first ladies from Sierra Leone, Angola, Malawi, Kenya, Ethiopia, Equatorial Guinea, and Congo on the committee, which aims to support women and girls in Africa.
