- The Ethics and Anti-corruption Commission (EACC) is trying to recover millions allegedly misused by former Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero, who is accused of using City Hall funds to upgrade his luxurious apartments in Riverside Drive.
- The EACC claims that Kidero authorized payments from the county government to a non-existent company and wired money to a contractor for his apartments, leading to a loss of Ksh58.8 million in a botched land deal.
- The commission is seeking to recover the money from Kidero and is also considering holding one of the apartments in trust for City Hall.
