- Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale announced that outpatient services in public health facilities from Level 2 to Level 4 are now free of charge, following a directive from President William Ruto to achieve Universal Health Coverage.
- The free services include consultations, diagnosis, treatment, laboratory services, radiological examinations, medication, health education, management of diseases, mental health support, minor procedures, immunization, maternal and child care, and more.
- Patients are encouraged to report any attempts to charge for these services, and hospitals engaging in fraudulent practices have been suspended from the program.
