"All our solutions are already in Africa...I remember going to the supermarket and finding potatoes from Europe, Milk from France...We are huge exporters of fresh produce. Why don't we (Kenyans) supply to our brothers in West Africa?"
This man has it exactly right. We skip our neighbors on the continent and try to hit it big in Europe or America. But a strong economy always starts locally. Any time you have to go overseas you are at a disadvantage because of long travel times and high shipping. If African countries just traded with each other, their economies would grow substantially. That's all economics is -- trade. Increased trade equals increased wealth. But each African country seems tied to its colonial traditions and seems to only cater to those European nations. This man has it right, we need to think what can we provide to each other. Make that switch and the rise is on.
