- Former Minister for Defence and MP for Bimbilla, Dominic Nitiwul, expressed disbelief and sorrow over the military helicopter crash that claimed the lives of his successor, Dr Edward Omane Boamah, and seven others.
- Nitiwul shared a close friendship with one of the victims, Murtala Mohammed, and recalled working closely with Omane Boamah during the political transition, leading up to a state-sponsored funeral in their honor at Independence Square in Accra on August 15.
