- The accident occurred when a Toyota Rav4 attempted a dangerous overtaking maneuver and crashed into the taxi carrying the victims, who were students from Uncle Rich and St. Paul basic schools.
- Emergency crews struggled to retrieve the taxi driver's body from the mangled vehicle, and two students who sustained critical injuries sadly passed away while receiving treatment at the hospital.
