- A young Nigerian named Mike Solomon joined TikTok without many expectations, but his videos quickly gained popularity, leading to over 67.4k followers in just a year.
- TikTok, a platform for short videos, has become popular in Nigeria among teenagers and young adults as a creative and less complex alternative to platforms like Instagram and YouTube.
I didn't hear of this up until just now, but like the article claim, it doesn't mean I'm getting old, maybe out of touch. While instagram might be have a rather fierce competition in the near future, I don't see how TikTok will suppress the use of users in Nigeria. However, in the social media space, I'm ready for some major change. Things have remained the same for too long. I'm rooting for more diverse approach.
Wow! Never heard of TikTok before, although the company ByteDance isn't new to me having tried one of their products before called TopBuzz. This one seems really different and it's great that there is now another app now that is challenging the boring Instagram, Facebook and the likes. Moreover, it's great that there is money to be made posting videos as well. The article also mentioned Viskit which I have been looking out for some time now but haven't decided to join up. I'll try out TikTok first since it seems the more popular option of the two.
