- Algeria's army chief, Ahmed Gaid Salah, has urged for President Abdelaziz Bouteflika to be declared unfit to rule amid ongoing protests against his leadership.
- While Bouteflika has postponed elections and plans to stay in power until a new constitution is adopted, many protesters are skeptical of the military's involvement and demand a complete change in the government.
