- The African National Congress (ANC) secretary-general, Fikile Mbalula, stated that the Government of National Unity (GNU) will continue even if the Democratic Alliance (DA) decides to leave, following tensions over the dismissal of Andrew Whitfield for an unauthorized trip.
- Mbalula assured that the GNU will remain strong, with other parties interested in joining, despite ongoing disputes that have arisen since its establishment a year ago.
