- The Democratic Alliance (DA) still has a good relationship with the Freedom Front (FF) Plus despite the FF Plus voting to remove a DA mayor in Swellendam.
- The DA leader, John Steenhuisen, is in communication with the FF Plus leader to finalize an agreement for cooperation between the two parties.
