- The Democratic Alliance (DA) believes the African National Congress (ANC) is falling apart in the Western Cape after former provincial secretary Neville Delport joined the DA, criticizing the ANC for ignoring its supporters.
- The ANC, however, claims Delport's departure shows they made the right choice in restructuring their leadership and insists their renewal process is focused on improving the party.
