- Basic Education Minister Siviwe Gwarube stated that the recent leak of the matric exam in Gauteng is a small, localized issue affecting only seven schools and 26 students, not a widespread problem.
- The leak was detected during the marking process, and Gwarube emphasized that it does not threaten the credibility of the National Senior Certificate Examination.
