- ActionSA has chosen Xolani Khumalo, a popular crime-fighting activist with limited political experience, as its mayoral candidate for Ekurhuleni.
- Party leader Herman Mashaba supports Khumalo, emphasizing that he had no governance experience when he became mayor of Johannesburg, and that Nasiphi Moya also had limited experience when chosen as mayor of Tshwane by ActionSA.
- Mashaba assures that if Khumalo wins, the party will surround him with capable individuals to serve the residents effectively.
