- The UK government announced new measures to target people-smuggling gangs, including travel bans and restrictions on phone and social media use for suspected criminals as part of the Border Security, Asylum and Immigration Bill.
- These measures aim to disrupt criminal activities and strengthen law enforcement's ability to investigate and prosecute people-smuggling networks, with potential penalties of up to five years in prison for breaching restrictions.
