- University students at the University of Nairobi are facing financial difficulties due to delays in receiving Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) funds from the government.
- The students have given the government a seven-day ultimatum to release the funds, threatening to protest if the funds are not disbursed by Friday.
- The delay in HELB disbursement is attributed to budgetary constraints, high demand for financial assistance, and poor loan recovery, impacting students who rely on these funds to cover their school fees and living expenses.
