- Senate Speaker Amason Kingi rejected Nyandarua Senator John Methu's request for a special Senate sitting to address recent abductions of government critics, citing non-compliance with Senate rules that require the request to come from the Majority or Minority Leader with the support of at least 15 Senators.
- Despite the setback, allies of former Deputy President Gachagua continue to push for accountability from the government regarding the abductions, with demands for an independent public inquiry commission and examination of politicization within police services and other institutions.
