- Two friends, Ibrahim Asante and Kwame Ntiamoah, stole gold bearing stones worth GH¢15,000 from a grinding machine shop in Kaniankor Top and were sentenced to 16 months in hard labor by the Tarkwa District Court One.
- Asante and Ntiamoah, who are galamsey operators, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit crime and stealing.
