Amazon has a lot of policies and high shipping rates. Alibaba ships cheap and sell in large quantities. These are some reason Alibaba is taking over Africa
Amazon has to as a matter of fact update many of its business terms and policies if there is any intention to be a true global leader. Alibaba currently dominates at the moment providing anything from fashion items to smartphones and accessories through its Aliexpress. I have always wondered what's keeping Amazon away. Is it the cost of running a business or Africa isn't just a priority considering the South American market hasn't even been explored by the company yet? I sincerely hope Amazon executives are seriously considering Africa and come in now or get in too late seeing how Africa's tech and ecommerce industry is growing tremendously and more people are taking to online shopping companies that are springing up in their numbers by the minute.
