- Dicky Hokie, a graphic designer from Kenya, struggled to find diverse stock photos of Africa beyond stereotypes like poverty and wildlife.
- He and his friend Sitati Kiyuti launched AfricanStockPhoto in 2016 to provide a platform for authentic African imagery, working with over 370 photographers and selling images both in and outside of Africa.
- Their goal is to change external perceptions of Africa while supporting talented photographers on the continent.
