- President Hakainde Hichilema has declared a state funeral and seven days of national mourning for former President Edgar Chagwa Lungu, who passed away in South Africa.
- The late president's remains will be brought back to the country on June 11th, and the funeral will take place at Belvedere Lodge in Kabulonga, with the national mourning period running from June 8th to June 14th, 2025.
