- The Municipal Demarcation Board (MDB) has added 20 new wards in South Africa, increasing the total from 4,468 to 4,488, and has submitted its final report on the new boundaries to the Electoral Commission.
- The MDB regularly reviews and adjusts ward boundaries every five years, considering factors like natural disasters and migration, but some changes are still being disputed in court.
