- President Cyril Ramaphosa has ordered that the South African flag be flown at half-mast nationwide for seven days to honor 14 soldiers who died on a peacekeeping mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
- He, along with other heads of state, will attend a summit in Tanzania this weekend to call for a ceasefire in the region.
