- Johannesburg Mayor Dada Morero and Energy Minister Kgosientsho Ramokgopa announced that the City of Johannesburg will pay Eskom R3.2 billion over four years to settle its debt, which was determined through mediation.
- The agreement ensures no additional tariffs will be imposed on consumers, and the City has cleared its current account with Eskom, with the aim of preventing a collapse in the country's electricity system.
