- A land dispute between Machakos and Makueni counties has arisen over the transfer of land records from Konza to Makueni County, with Machakos leaders opposing the move.
- The Machakos leaders argue that the transfer would inconvenience residents and could be an attempt by Makueni County to take over resources.
- Both counties are urged to work together, engage in public participation, and reach an agreement on how to handle the land operations amicably.
