It seems this was not well thought out after all. There are too many bottlenecks to actualizing this. Western Africa is one region of the Continent with countries that are not at par economically. Trying to bring them together as one under the ECO currency will take years to implement. The CFA used by the Francophone countries will be difficult to put away as the Nigerian naira will meet stiff opposition as well considering how large Nigeria's economy is. There's a long way to go but any 2020 proposed adoption day is not genuine to be truthful.
